STEM FORUM

Within the School of Engineering we have a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Forum. This forum involves many of our key staff in communicating the value of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics beyond the University. We aim to support teachers, students and prospective students of all ages, and to help them to recognise the importance of engineering and science to our society.

We host work shadowing, student placements and student projects, allowing both teachers and those considering careers in engineering and science to experience world class research and to talk with academic staff and students about their experience and expertise.  By presenting guest lectures, visiting schools, careers fairs and other events, we hope to inspire future generations of engineers and to inform prospective students of possible career paths and opportunities. Our strong links with industry are vital in ensuring that much of the research that we do has commercial application and we use these links to demonstrate the opportunities that exist in Northern Ireland and beyond.
