Embedded Systems in Connected Health

The research focuses on pioneering future directions and innovation in connected health environments through the integration of intelligent vital signs processing software and hardware expertise for remotely monitoring patients and elderly. The work includes the design and implementation of efficient algorithms, architectures and devices for remote monitoring systems using point of care wireless sensors.

Current research includes:

  • Pattern recognition for vital signs visualization, processing and analysis
  • Embedded and pervasive computing within point of care sensors
  • Wireless communication technologies for connected health
  • Electronic systems and devices for AAL
  • Remote monitoring
  • Sensor technologies and information fusion
  • Low power reconfigurable architectures for connected health
  • Biomedical imaging analysis
