Dr. Shirley Davey leads the EPSRC funded Multidisciplinary Assessment of Technology Centre for Healthcare (MATCH) Project element on ‘Business Innovation & Healthcare Technologies’ with the Ulster Business School. This work has encompassed research projects with 19 multinational and local companies. MATCH is well-established research collaboration between four leading UK universities (Birmingham, Brunel, Nottingham & Ulster) and a cohort of industrial partners. She collaborates with NHS organisations and research centres of excellence such as the Brunel/Birmingham NICE Medical Technology Assessment Centre (MTAC).
Her research was recently recognised when she received the award for best paper in Healthcare and Public sector management from the Irish Academy of Management. She is a co-investigator in grants in the area of connected health totalling in excess of £400k and has over 20 publications.
Her previous positions have involved carrying out clinical research projects with Global companies, government agencies and local hospitals in emerging healthcare technologies and medical devices.
